Your Key Responsibilities

  • Author cultural reports under Section 106 and prepare forms, with an emphasis on geoarchaeology and geomorphology.
  • Work closely with a Principal Investigator / Supervisor to make technical recommendations for cultural resources management.
  • Participate in identifying and recording areas of archeological potential, archaeological sites, and traditional use sites.
  • Participate in and lead field reconnaissance surveys (linear and block type), archaeological monitoring, and excavations.
  • Assist in preparing archaeological impact assessments.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical products through the implementation of quality review and independent review protocols.
  • Support technical elements of proposal development, including scope, budget, and schedule to ensure complete satisfaction.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Meet the Secretary of Interior Professional Qualifications Standards for Archaeology
  • Proven record of authoring geomorphological and geoarchaeological reports and assessments
  • Professional writing, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in geosciences such as ground-penetrating radar, electrical resistance, and magnetometry.
  • Valid driver's license with REAL ID and good driving record required.
  • Permitted Statewide in Colorado, Wyoming or Utah
  • Ability to attain BLM permits within the states of Colorado, Wyoming or Utah
  • Experience leading and conducting Phase I and III Cultural Resource Inventories in the Mountain West.
  • Section 106 and 110 (NHPA) Consultation.
  • Registered Professional Archaeologist preferred.

Education And Experience

  • MA/MS in cultural resources or archaeology, with an emphasis on geoarchaeology.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cultural resource management and conducting field projects .

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s)

  • $29 - $47 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO, HI, MD and IL

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
