Job summary

Terracon in North Charleston, SC, seeks an entry-level Archaeology Technician to support field surveys, testing, or excavations and to document work following safety standards.

You will assist with artifact collection, basic documentation, recording stratigraphy, and using GPS and MS Office tools under supervision. A relevant bachelor's degree and field school completion are required, with a valid driver's license possibly needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or related field.
• Completion of an archaeological field school from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• Basic knowledge of artifact identification, soils, and stratigraphy.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office programs.
• Able to use Global Positioning Systems.

• Communicate basic information to Crew Chief or Archaeologist.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
