Job summary

Terracon in San Antonio is seeking an entry-level archaeological technician to support field surveys, testing, and excavations, with a focus on proper documentation and safety adherence.

You will perform field, survey or laboratory analysis under supervision, assist with artifact processing, and help maintain equipment while contributing to project quality and timely reporting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of archaeological resources.
  • Have basic computer skills.
  • A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Entry level technician performing field, survey or laboratory analysis under the supervision of a Crew Chief or higher.
  • Follow basic field or laboratory protocols outlined by more senior staff, such as archaeological fieldwork or artifact processing.
  • Maintain assigned equipment.
  • Provides clear documentation of findings or results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
