Job description

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is actively seeking On-Call Archaeological Field Technicians in the Central California Area, including Fresno and the Central Valley. Candidates must be within a commutable distance and able to support field work on-site as needed.

Who You Are

• You are experienced in archaeological and/or paleontological monitoring, surveys, and documentation of resources in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines. You live in Central Valley, California, or are willing to travel to remote locations, including Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona.
• You hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in archaeology, anthropology, paleontology, or a related field. You are familiar with app-based software for field recordation and mapping.
• You have a minimum of six months of field experience or relevant academic experience in Northern California, with knowledge of regional archaeological materials, DPR forms, and working on active construction sites.
• You enjoy working outdoors, can walk long distances carrying up to 50 lbs., and can work some nights and weekends.
• You possess a valid driver's license and experience driving off-road 4WD vehicles.

Our California Archaeological & Cultural Resources Team

Our team comprises specialists in archaeology, geoarchaeology, tribal consultation, architecture, history, and paleontology, working to protect and respect our cultural heritage across California.

Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for survey work.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is approximately $23.73 to $37.59 per hour, depending on location, experience, and skills.
