Job summary

Logan Simpson, based in Flagstaff, AZ, seeks an Archaeological Field Director to lead fieldwork on cultural resources projects across Arizona and nearby states. This full-time, hybrid role includes supervising crews, recording field data, and producing technical reports.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Anthropology and 5+ years of CRM experience, plus strong communication and MS Office skills. Hybrid schedule supports field and office work within a collaborative, award-winning firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or related field.
• 5+ years of CRM experience and demonstrable field supervision expertise.
• Field experience to be listed as Project Director on an Arizona State Museum blanket permit.
• Ability to obtain Field Director permits with BLM, National Forests, and other lands in AZ.
• Knowledge of Section 106 and other federal preservation regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office products.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and remote locations.
• Walk up to 10 miles per day over steep terrain.
• Team-oriented, self-motivated, capable of independent workload management.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Managing fieldwork on cultural resources projects across AZ and adjacent states.
• Record resources in the field, manage a field crew, use GPS data recorders, and conduct QA/QC on data.
• Prepare complex technical documents for cultural resources projects.
• Mentor other staff.
