Job summary

JCC Denver is seeking an Aquatics Instructor to teach American Red Cross swim lessons across all levels for participants of all ages and abilities. You will enforce pool rules, communicate with parents about placement, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the reception desk, preparing completion certificates, and handling emergencies effectively. The role is part-time with varied hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school education preferred; CPR and Standard First Aid certifications required.
• Experience teaching all ages and all American Red Cross levels.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and remain flexible under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Teach all levels of American Red Cross swim lessons to participants of all ages and abilities.
• Communicate with parents about appropriate class enrollment levels.
• Maintain familiarity with registration and class schedules; assist reception with class info.
• Ensure safety of all swimmers by enforcing pool rules and responding to emergencies.
• Keep aquatic area safe, clean and orderly; prepare certificates and awards on course completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
