Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus is seeking a Swim Instructor for the Aquatics Department to lead group and private Learn-To-Swim lessons using ARC curriculum and safety guidelines.

You will design lesson plans, track progress, communicate with participants and parents, and participate in in-service trainings. You may assist with deck and facility cleanliness during downtime.

Qualifications

• Age 16 years and older.
• Possesses or working towards High School diploma (or equivalent), American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certification & American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certifications (JCC will assist in obtaining these certifications).
• Possesses basic water skills and exhibits a strong sense of maturity and responsibility.
• Must be able to assist, communicate, and work with people of all ages.

Job description

The Swim Instructor position is an integral part of the JCC Aquatics Department American Red Cross Learn To Swim program. Swim Instructors will be assigned to both group and private swim lessons. Our instructors will provide swimming and water safety instruction assistance to children and adults following the American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim curriculum and guidelines.

Job Qualifications:

• Age Requirement :16 years and older
• Knowledge and Education Preferred : Possesses or working towards High School diploma (or equivalent), American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certification & American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certifications (JCC will assist in obtaining these certifications)
• Experience - Minimum Required or Preferred : Possesses basic water skills and exhibits a strong sense of maturity and responsibility.
• Special Skills : Must be able to assist, communicate, and work with people of all ages
