Job summary

The Animal Resources Center at the University of Chicago seeks an Operations Analyst to lead the ARC dock operations, manage animal care supplies, and coordinate shipments. You will oversee ordering, receiving, and inspection of animal arrivals and maintain USDA documentation and logs.

Qualifications

  • College or university degree in a related field.
  • Less than 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Leads operational activities related to the ARC dock, including receipt, storage, and distribution of lab animal care supplies and equipment.
  • Orders, receives, inspects research animal arrivals/shipments and generates delivery reports.
  • Maintains inventory reorder levels and ensures uninterrupted service with logs.
  • Builds relationships with vendors and serves as main contact for purchases.
  • Inspects ARC transport vehicles to meet USDA and AAALAC standards and coordinates driver scheduling.
  • Supports OSRF cores with equipment movement and storage when needed.
  • Maintains data and specimens; conducts literature reviews and assists with reports.
