Overview

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. The in-residence rehabilitation program offers basic necessities, including a clean and healthy environment, good food, work therapy, leisure activities, counseling, and spiritual guidance. Our goal is to develop life skills and foster a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Each team member contributes to recycling goods that help repair broken lives.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Production Assistant (Truck Driver) to complete driving routes for pickups and drop-offs of donations at the warehouse, donation boxes, and donor homes.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure the security and safe operation of the vehicle and equipment. Report accidents promptly and complete necessary paperwork.
2. Perform daily vehicle inspections and report issues immediately.
3. Keep the truck cab and box clean, removing personal items daily.
4. Plan daily routes based on assignments and make scheduled calls.
5. Develop routes, including bagging or carding donations as instructed.
6. Represent The Salvation Army professionally and courteously to customers.
7. Follow the 'Manual for Production Assistants' and report pickup issues to the dispatcher.
8. Maintain a professional appearance per dress code.
9. Keep accurate records, such as delivery manifests and trip logs.
10. Load and unload the truck carefully, securing goods to prevent damage.
11. Assist Thrift Store personnel with deliveries and store placement.
12. Supervise and instruct the Truck Helper, setting a good example.
13. Support the work therapy program by demonstrating professional conduct and supervision.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administrator.

Qualifications

1. Effective communication skills.
2. Valid driver's license with an acceptable DMV record and passing a driving test.
3. Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
4. Ability to read maps and plan routes.
5. Proficiency with iPad, GPS, texting, and truck inspection reporting.
6. Excellent customer service skills.
7. Medical card as required by city/state.
8. Pass DOT Physical; failure may lead to termination.
