A Day in the Life of a Restaurant General Manager

• Manage profitability by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions.
• Recruit, interview, and hire team members, shift managers, and assistant GMs.
• Coach and train staff to ensure operational excellence.
• Complete inventory counts bi-weekly.
• Maintain cleanliness and ensure a friendly, high-quality guest experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a General Manager in food service or retail, including Profit & Loss responsibility, preferably in QSR.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Availability to close the restaurant at least two nights a week.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects and stand/walk throughout shifts; operate restaurant equipment safely.

Compensation varies based on skills, experience, and location. For example, in Maryland, starting pay ranges from $55,000 to $60,000. This will be discussed during the hiring process.
