Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking a Microbiologist I to support detection and characterization of arboviral diseases for our government customer in Fort Collins, Colorado, with potential limited telework upon customer approval. Responsibilities include overseeing sequencing core activities and emergency response support.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Biologics/Microbiology (MS preferred), at least 4 years of relevant experience, and mandatory CDC training including respirator/PAPR

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biologics, Microbiology, or related discipline.
• MS in Biologics, Microbiology, or related discipline preferred.
• At least four (4) years relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ability to interact professionally with CDC staff, partners, and visitors.
• Participation in CDC animal use and lab training, including respirator/PAPR.
• CDC Respiratory Fit Test and Training, initial and annual.
• Willingness to enroll in Occupational Health Program per federal requirements.
• Willingness to sign CDC non-disclosure agreement.
• U.S. Citizen; able to pass background investigation and obtain PIV badge.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for detection and characterization of arboviral diseases.
• Support assignments and deadlines set by Virology/Diagnostics Team Leads.
• Prepare assignments and manage sequencing core activities.
• Conduct surveillance of arbovirus infections.
• Manage inventory, accessioning, and regulatory compliance for sequencing core activities.
• Assist in emergency public health responses related to viral pathogens.
