Job summary

Almstead Tree and Shrub Care in the tri-state area is seeking a Tree Climber to join our second-generation arboriculture team. The role centers on climbing and supporting the crew leader in general tree work, with a strong emphasis on safety, proper rigging, and efficient site setup.

Responsibilities include ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties; assisting with pruning, cabling, and take-downs; operating chainsaws and related equipment; and participating in safety briefings.

Qualifications

• Degree in Arboriculture or 2+ years industry experience.
• Knowledge of pruning for large shade trees and ornamentals.
• Ability to climb utilizing rope and saddle.
• Knowledge of rigging knots and techniques.
• Valid Driver’s License; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties as directed by crew leader.
• Assist in pruning, take-downs, cabling and bracing.
• Safely operate equipment and participate in safety briefings.
• Apply proper climbing techniques and rigging procedures.
• Assist with driving, backing, dumping, and job-site setup.
