Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking an Arborist Trainee Internship in Morris Plains, NJ. Begin spring-summer 2027 working on-site with seasoned arborists and landscape teams to deliver high-quality tree care and client service. 40–50 hours/week, hourly pay, serious hands-on training and PPE provided.

Interns gain exposure to pruning, cabling, plant health care, and business operations while developing technical skills and workplace readiness in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

Studying arboriculture or related natural resources field.
Driver’s license required; commercial license a plus.

Responsibilities

Learn tree care in the field alongside experienced arborists and landscape professionals.
Perform tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing, and maintenance.
Assist with tree and landscape installation.
Safely operate equipment such as chainsaws and chippers.
Support Plant Health Care activities including root fertilization and pest management.
Engage in client service and basic sales training.
