Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in Olympia, WA is seeking an Arborist Crew Leader to guide a tree care crew and perform arboriculture tasks safely and efficiently. You will lead crew operations, ensure proper training, and maintain equipment while upholding industry standards and Bartlett's safety culture.

Requirements include at least three years of tree climbing experience with DdRT or SRT, a valid driver’s license (Class B CDL preferred), and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license; Class B CDL preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather.
• Proven initiative, teamwork, and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise tree care crews for safe, efficient work.
• Perform and oversee pruning, cabling/bracing, rigging, and removals.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and operated properly.
• Train crew members for designated jobs and ensure compliance with standards.
• Communicate with clients and build relationships on site.

As an Arborist Crew Leader, you will play an important role in

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Rigging
  • Removals
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Bringing a cooperative and enthusiastic attitude to the job site
• Supervising and managing crews while performing tree care services, as directed by the Arborist Representative and Local Manager
• Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
• Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
• Communicating, answering questions, and building relationships with clients
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least three (3) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience in the tree care industry
• Valid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
