What you’ll do as a Crew Foreperson at Lewis:
- Lead a tight-knit crew, creating and promoting a positive team environment
- Interpret tree trimming, removal and spraying orders initiated by General Foreman or representative of the customer
- Plan and layout daily work for your crew, considering time, equipment, weather, and permissions
- Perform a Pre-Job Hazard Survey at each site and assign tasks based on crew members' skills
- Perform line clearing and tree trimming duties for utility customers, including pruning, removal, and debris cleanup
- Climb trees and operate a bucket for trimming and removals near power lines
- Prepare, operate, and maintain tools and equipment
- Safeguard employees and the public, enforce safety practices
What You’ll Need
- Two or more years of experience as a Trimmer/Climber around utility lines
- Ability to lead people and communicate effectively
- Knowledge of trees and arboriculture techniques
- Experience in tree climbing, knot tying, PPE
- Understanding of electrical drawings and symbols
- Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs and operate equipment
- Valid driver’s license, CDL, or medical certificate
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications
- Pass pre-employment drug and skills tests
