Climbing Arborist Crew Lead | Monroe, MI

Position Overview

Directs crew members and equipment, and plans and executes assigned work or tasks, including climbing trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, leading a crew in providing arboricultural care, and mentoring crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.

Job Duties
  • Climb trees safely using various climbing systems.
  • Lead a crew in arboricultural tasks such as pruning, thinning, removing deadwood, installing cables, bracing, lightning protection, and hazardous tree removal.
  • Ensure safety protocols like H.O.P.E are followed.
  • Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Qualifications
  • Love of the outdoors.
  • Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program, First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
  • Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses, ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.
