Job summary

Bartlett is seeking an experienced Arborist Crew Leader in Chicago to lead a tree care crew and perform all arboriculture tasks safely and efficiently. You will prune, cabling, bracing, rigging, and removals while ensuring proper use of equipment and safe practices on every job.

Ideal candidates have at least three years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and a valid driver’s license, with a CDL preferred. We offer training opportunities, competitive pay, and a safety-first culture with advancement

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience.
• Valid driver’s license (Class B CDL preferred).
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform and supervise all aspects of arboriculture (pruning, cabling/bracing, rigging, removals).
• Operate and maintain equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Supervise and manage crews on job sites.
• Ensure crew training for each assignment.
• Ensure work meets industry and company standards.
• Communicate with clients and build relationships.
• Demonstrate passion for nature and the outdoors.

As an Arborist Crew Leader, you will play an important role in

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Rigging
  • Removals
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Bringing a cooperative and enthusiastic attitude to the job site
• Supervising and managing crews while performing tree care services, as directed by the Arborist Representative and Local Manager
• Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
• Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
• Communicating, answering questions, and building relationships with clients
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least three (3) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience in the tree care industry
• Valid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
