Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in Cleveland, OH is seeking an Arborist Crew Leader to guide a tree care crew, perform services safely and efficiently, and mentor team members. This is a hands-on leadership role with growth opportunities.

You will prune, cabling, rigging, removals, and operate equipment, while maintaining safety, building client relationships, and upholding Bartlett standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years tree climbing experience (DdRT or SRT).
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR; Class B CDL preferred.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round.
• Strong leadership and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise tree care crews on site.
• Safely perform pruning, cabling, bracing, rigging, and removals.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Train crew members for designated jobs and ensure safety standards.
• Communicate with clients and management; build client relationships.
• Ensure work complies with industry and Bartlett standards.
• Maintain a safety-first culture and adapt to weather conditions.

As an Arborist Crew Leader, you will play an important role in

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Rigging
  • Removals
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Bringing a cooperative and enthusiastic attitude to the job site
• Supervising and managing crews while performing tree care services, as directed by the Arborist Representative and Local Manager
• Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
• Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
• Communicating, answering questions, and building relationships with clients
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• At least three (3) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience in the tree care industry
• Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (Class B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
