Job summary

Provision Arbor Care in the St. Louis metro area is seeking an Arborist Climber/Crew Leader to join a professional, growing team. You will lead climbers and ground crew, perform pruning, removals, cabling, and other tree care tasks to high ANSI/ISA standards, and ensure safety on every job.

You bring at least 2 years of arboriculture experience, a valid Class A license (preferred), and the ability to train and develop teammates while maintaining excellent client service and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of arboriculture experience with climbing, rigging, pruning and removal.
• ISA Arborist Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Must lead and manage a team with a focus on safety, accountability and growth.
• Knowledge of ANSI A300, ANSI Z133, OSHA and ISA Best Management Practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a tree service team in safe, efficient task execution.
• Perform professional tree care (pruning, removals, cabling) per ANSI 300 and ISA Best Practices.
• Maintain and account for tools and equipment used daily.
• Utilize climbing, pruning, rigging, and removal techniques to perform tree care per industry standards.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, PPE usage, and equipment maintenance.
• Communicate with clients to provide guidance and ensure satisfaction.
• Train new team members on techniques, safety, and company procedures.
• Organize daily work schedules, equipment allocation, and project timelines.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, employee time, equipment usage, and incidents.

• Report punctually each day, prepared to work a full day
• Lead and supervise a tree service team, including climbers and ground crew members, in executing tree care tasks efficiently and safely.
• Assist in performing professional tree care (pruning, removals, cabling, etc.) following ANSI 300 and ISA Best Practices standards
• Maintain and account for all tools and equipment used in daily operations
• Utilize your expertise in tree climbing, pruning, rigging, and removal techniques to perform tree care operations according to industry standards and best practices.
• Ensure strict adherence to all company Safety protocols and policies, equipment maintenance, and PPE utilization to mitigate risks and maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing guidance, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
• Work with managers to train new team members on proper tree care techniques, equipment usage, safety measures, and company procedures to uphold quality standards.
• Organize and oversee daily work schedules, equipment allocation, and project timelines to meet client expectations and company goals.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, employee time, equipment usage, and any incidents, ensuring comprehensive reporting.

• Must possess a valid driver's license. A valid Class A driver’s license and clean driving record are preferred.
• Hold an ISA Arborist Certification or be able to obtain one within 3 months of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in arboriculture with demonstrated proficiency in tree climbing, rigging, pruning, and tree removal techniques.
• Must possess physical strength and agility, good balance, good depth perception, and the ability to hear verbal instructions from a distance
• Must have the ability to lead and manage a team effectively, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and professional growth
• Possess in-depth knowledge of arboriculture, tree risk assessment, equipment operation and maintenance, climbing systems, and familiarity with the following industry standards.

• Must display Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
• Be familiar with electrical hazards and how to operate appropriately when in proximity to electrical conductors
