Job summary

ArborScape Inc. is seeking an experienced Arborist Climber to lead the Tree Work Crew on outdoor landscape projects in the Hartland area. You will climb, diagnose trees, prune, remove and install support systems while ensuring safety and quality.

You will mentor crew members, operate equipment such as chippers, stump grinders and chainsaws, and maintain gear while adhering to ANSI safety guidelines. This role offers overtime opportunities and hourly pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in arboriculture or related field.
• Experience with tree climbing, pruning, removal, and use of arborist equipment.
• Proficiency with safe operation and maintenance of chippers, stump grinders, and chainsaws.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work collaboratively with the Tree Work Crew to complete assigned tree care tasks safely and efficiently.
• Perform a variety of arboriculture activities, including tree diagnosis, climbing, pruning, removal, stump grinding, and planting.
• Install tree support systems such as cabling, bracing, tying, bolting, staking, and guying.
• Supervise and train crew members in proper tree trimming and safety procedures.
• Collect and manage debris from tree trimming and removal operations, ensuring a clean and safe work zone.
• Maintain and operate specialized equipment, including chippers, stump grinders, and chainsaws.
• Participate in the maintenance of gear, tools, and equipment both in the field and at the shop.
• Consistently adhere to ANSI and company safety guidelines.

• Knowledge of safe operation and maintenance of chippers, stump grinders, and chainsaws
• Proficiency in knot tying and rigging techniques used in tree work
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to ongoing skill development and professional growth; certification as an Arborist is a plus
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus

Compensation

$24 - $29 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime opportunities available.
