Job summary

The F. A. Bartlett Tree Expert Company is seeking an Arborist Climber to join our tree care crew in Guilford, CT. The role focuses on tree climbing and supporting Arborist Crew Leaders in delivering residential and commercial arboriculture services with safety as a priority.

You will perform ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties, and you will handle tree identification, pruning, removals, cabling, and root collar work while maintaining equipment and following safety policies.

Qualifications

• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors.
• At least 1 year of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience.
• Valid driver’s license (Class B CDL preferred).
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of assigned tasks.
• Safely execute all arboriculture tasks: tree identification, risk assessments, pruning, removals, cabling and bracing.
• Root collar excavations and proper maintenance of tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Learn and adhere to all safety rules and company safety policies.

• Safely performing all aspects of arboriculture, including:
  • Tree identification
  • Tree risk assessments
  • Pruning
  • Removals
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Root collar excavations
  • Properly maintaining and operating tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
