Job summary

Memorial Park Conservancy in Houston seeks an Arboriculture Supervisor to advance the health and resilience of the park's urban forest. You will lead field crews, plan weekly work, manage materials, and ensure high safety and quality standards across designated areas.

This exempt, salaried role reports to the Conservation Manager and requires strong leadership, budgeting awareness, and hands-on field presence; occasional evenings/weekends may apply.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of professional experience in arboriculture, tree health care, urban forestry, or related field; at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
• Advanced knowledge of arboricultural practices including tree risk mitigation, plant health care systems, structural pruning, and integrated pest management.
• Strong tree and pest identification skills; familiarity with native and invasive species preferred.
• Proven ability to supervise field crews and manage daily operations.
• Experience supporting operating budgets and coordinating vendor services.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital work order or asset management systems; GIS familiarity preferred.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, and oversee arboriculture work across assigned areas.
• Oversee and support implementation of arboricultural practices including tree risk mitigation, plant health care, structural pruning, irrigation oversight, and integrated pest management.
• Evaluate tree health, structural risk, and site conditions to inform prioritization and operational decisions.
• Ensure consistency in work quality, execution standards, and field practices across crews.
• Adjust work plans in response to field conditions, weather, and operational priorities.
• Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance, inspections, and tree assessments using established work order and tracking systems.
