POSITION SUMMARY

We are hiring Tree Climbers at all experience levels to join our growing Arbor Division. Whether you are an entry-level climber looking to build your skills or an experienced production climber ready to lead complex work, this role offers clear growth paths, professional training, and steady work with a safety-driven team.

This position performs aerial tree work including pruning, removals, and rigging operations while working closely with ground crews and crew leadership to deliver high-quality, safe tree care services.

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform aerial tree pruning and removals using approved climbing systems (MRS / SRS)
• Operate chainsaws safely in the canopy and on the ground
• Set and manage rigging systems appropriate to experience level
• Conduct pre-job inspections of climbing gear and life-support systems
• Communicate clearly with ground crew during cutting and rigging operations
• Assist with jobsite setup, cleanup, and hazard control
• Follow ANSI Z133 safety standards and company policies at all times
• Support crew productivity, safety culture, and client satisfaction

Entry-Level / Developing Climbers

• Basic climbing and pruning under supervision
• Learning proper tie-in points, knots, and climbing systems
• Supporting production and ground operations

Intermediate Climbers

• Independent climbing in medium to large trees
• Aerial chainsaw operation and moderate rigging
• Assisting with job planning and mentoring junior climbers

Lead / Production Climbers

• Complex removals and advanced rigging
• Leading aerial operations on site
• Mentoring climbers and supporting crew leadership

EXPERIENCE

• Tree climbing experience at any professional level
• Strong commitment to safety and professionalism
• Ability to work at height and perform physically demanding work outdoors
• Willingness to learn, improve skills, and work as part of a team
• Reliable transportation and attendance

Preferred (Not Required)

• ISA Certified Arborist or working toward certification
• Aerial Rescue training
• CPR / First Aid certification
• Experience with MRS and/or SRS climbing systems
• Rigging experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Working at Heights: Ascending, descending, and operating in the canopy of trees using climbing systems like Moving Rope Systems (MRS) or Stationary Rope Systems (SRS).
• Strenuous Labor: Performing physically demanding work that requires overall muscular strength, endurance, and agility.
• Outdoor Elements: Working outside in varying and potentially extreme Texas weather conditions (heat, humidity, and cold).
• Equipment Operation: Managing, lifting, and operating heavy tools like chainsaws and managing rigging systems both in the air and on the ground.
• Mobility and Stamina: Bending, lifting, pulling, and maintaining awkward or suspended body positions while performing pruning and tree removal tasks.
