Job summary

Amalgamated Life in White Plains, NY is seeking a litigation support professional to manage the preparation and review of arbitration documents for delinquent accounts. You will coordinate with House Counsel, collect evidence, and help file complaints as needed.

Responsibilities include reviewing daily statements, drafting pre- and post-arbitration materials, researching liability, attending hearings, and communicating with local counsels and unions.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with legal research and data gathering.
• Knowledge of CRT, litigation, and substantive law.
• Ability to gather and apply data and communicate information clearly.
• Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
• College degree required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the list of delinquent firms for arbitration using daily statements of accounts.
• Review and proof all pre- and past arbitration documents.
• Occasional drafting of pre- and post-arbitration documents.
• Research and investigate the whereabouts of principals of delinquent firms.
• Prepare complaints involving personal actions for House Counsel and oversee litigation.
• Analyze liability of delinquent firms; conduct legal and non-legal research.
• Gather evidence to substantiate claims.
• Prepare and file bankruptcy claims and update status of distributions.
• Assist in Trustees' reports preparation.
• Attend arbitration hearings.
• Monitor status of cases with Local Counsels.
• Write memoranda and correspondence; follow court calendars.
• Communicate with union locals, joint boards, and employees and attorneys.
