Job summary

WPP Production in the United States is seeking a freelance Creative Writer to write headlines and adaptable marketing copy for US audiences, ensuring brand voice and cultural relevance across products and services. The role goes beyond translation, preserving tone while crafting natural, locally resonant messaging.

You'll collaborate with writers, project managers, and editors, review translated copy, and use CAT tools and CMS platforms within the localization workflow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, marketing, linguistics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in copywriting, transcreation, or localization.
• Experience with international and local brands, consumer tech, or global localization.

Responsibilities

• Creatively write copy for marketing materials, ensuring brand alignment and tone.
• Adapt and transcreate US English content into the local-market language while preserving intent and voice.
• Review and validate final in-context materials to confirm messaging quality and consistency across formats.
• Review, rewrite and validate translated marketing copy and raw machine translation output.
• Collaborate with writers, project managers, producers, editors and post-editors to ensure smooth workflows and language validation.
• Provide creative insights and propose process improvements to project stakeholders.
• Use CAT tools and CMS platforms effectively during localization workflow.
• Proactively explain creative choices to non-native speakers with rationales.
