Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years medical office experience.
• Minimum of 2 years insurance A/R experience.
• Knowledge of BCBS A/R processes is preferred.
• Proficient with Excel spreadsheets and data bases.
• Experience with practice management software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work all denied COMMERCIAL insurance claims over 14 days EXCLUDING BCBS.
• Handle appeals, reconsiderations, and insurance overpayments.
• Process compensation and re-bill denied claims as needed.
• Check Claim Status using available tools and resources.
• Complete and process required paperwork efficiently.
• Follow-up on non-payment claims over 30 days old.
• Correct errors and rebill as necessary; respond to team inquiries.

Job Summary :

The A/R Specialist will be responsible for managing insurance collections, interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), processing appeals and reconsiderations, and verifying patient balances for accuracy. This role also includes handling incoming calls from insurance companies. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the revenue cycle.

Job Duties Include:

• Working all denied COMMERCIAL insurance claims over 14 days EXCLUDING Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)
• Appeals, reconsiderations, and insurance overpayment.
• Compensation. Work all denied claims and any appeals.
• Check Status of Claims. Use all measures available to check status of claims.
• Form Completion. Complete and process any paperwork.
• Follow-up: Checking status of non-payment claims over 30 days old.
• Correcting errors and re-billing claims, as needed.
• Be available for additional questions and queries from other TEAM members.
