Job summary

Heaton Eye Associates in Tyler, TX, is seeking a clinic operations support role to verify surgical insurance benefits, enter data, and help manage authorizations for cataract and other procedures.

You will collaborate with the Director of the Business Office and clinic staff, maintain schedules, collect payments, and ensure accuracy of patient information while demonstrating dependable, organized, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify surgical insurance benefits (Professional & Facility) for surgery patients and relay information before surgery
• Input insurance information into letter template and patient chart

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of the Business Office, support the daily operations of the clinic's surgery counselors. Responsibilities include verifying patient benefits and communicating coverage details, entering insurance information into the system, ensuring accuracy of the surgery schedule, obtaining surgery authorizations and pre determinations, coordinating information with offsite facilities, and collecting payments.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year surgical insurance verification
• Minimum 1 year retrieving authorizations experience
• General knowledge of insurance verification

Job Duties Include

• Verify surgical insurance benefits (Professional & Facility) for surgery patients and relay the information to patient before surgery
• Input insurance information into letter template and mail out to patient. Input insurance information into patient's chart.
• Assist with day-to day clinic operations relating to insurance verification for, but not limited to: Cataracts, pediatric cases, glaucoma, and YAG surgeries, and oculoplastic
• Retrieve predeterminations and authorizations for surgery cases
• Attendance/Punctuality and Reliability
• Fulfillment of Core Values
• All other duties as assigned
