Job summary

Upgrade is seeking an AR Ops Lead to own cash reconciliation, disputes, and merchant collections across the Dispute organization. You will manage accruals, drive end-to-end recovery actions, and partner with Accounting, Legal and Sales to protect financials and exposure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in accounts receivable, collections, cash reconciliation, or financial-services recovery operations, or a closely related role.
• Working knowledge of credit/refund decisioning and the internal controls around applying financial adjustments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a recovery/collections caseload against firm weekly and monthly deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
• Strong written communication for merchant-facing collections correspondence, legal/accounting-facing documentation, and internal audit trails.
• Comfortable leading recurring cross-functional syncs and driving escalations with unresponsive or high-risk merchants.
• Strong investigative judgment to trace discrepancies and decide on legal vs. collections paths.
• Proficient with Tableau for dashboard-based reconciliation and reporting, plus Jira/HMD tools

Responsibilities

• Owns cash reconciliation and credit decisioning for disputes with financial impact.
• Lead weekly Merchant Collections report process and recovery actions.
• Prepare incident reports for legal requests when needed.
• Own accrual process, reconciling expenses and leading year-end close activities.
• Build and maintain AR dashboards and monthly metrics reviews.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Risk, Payments, and Legal on incidents and escalations.
• Document AR procedures and maintain audit-ready records.
• Maintain complete, factual records of all collections actions and decisions.
