Sycamore Hills Dentistry is seeking an Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist to join our growing Front Office team in Fort Wayne, IN. You will own patient AR, communicate on balances, and ensure accurate posting of payments and adjustments.

Experience with dental AR and Open Dental is preferred. This role supports the front office and collaborates with our insurance billing partner to drive timely resolutions.

Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist

Sycamore Hills Dentistry is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist to join our growing Front Office team! The Role

Our AR/Billing Specialist will take primary ownership of patient accounts receivable, ensuring balances are accurate, actively managed, and resolved professionally and efficiently.

This position is also an integrated member of our Front Office team. AR is the primary focus, but you'll stay connected to the patient experience and jump in to support the team when needed.

Key responsibilities include:

• Own and actively work patient AR and aging balances
• Communicate with patients regarding balances, statements, payment arrangements, and account questions
• Ensure payments, adjustments, and account activity are accurately posted and reconciled
• Follow outstanding balances and discrepancies through to resolution
• Work closely with our third-party insurance billing partner to monitor insurance AR and help drive resolution
• Collaborate with the Front Office and treatment teams to strengthen collections and prevent AR issues
• Support patient check-in, phones, scheduling, and other Front Office needs when necessary

Our day-to-day insurance billing and claims processing are handled by a third-party partner. This position works closely with that partner but is primarily focused on patient AR and account management.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is organized, analytical, dependable, persistent, and great with people — someone equally comfortable working an aging report, solving an account issue, talking with a patient, or helping a teammate.

Dental AR or billing experience is strongly preferred, but we'll consider candidates with relevant healthcare AR, patient billing, collections, or dental Front Office experience. Experience with Open Dental, dental insurance, and Excel is a plus.
