Job summary

Nidec is seeking an Accounting Clerk II on a six-month contract in Illinois with potential to convert to a full-time role. The role focuses on Accounts Receivable and provides support for Accounts Payable, using ERP systems (JDE and Oracle) to ensure accurate, timely processing and strong internal controls.

The candidate will post payments, process invoices, monitor aging, support collections, and contribute to month-end close. Strong Excel and time-management skills are required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration(Accounting), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting support.
• Experience working with ERP systems, preferably JDE and Oracle.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Independently post and apply payments (checks, ACH, wire, lockbox).
• Process invoices, credits, adjustments, and write-offs per policy.
• Monitor customer balances, aging, and unapplied cash; research discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable activities and routine payment inquiries.
• Maintain auditable records and ensure internal-control compliance and documentation.
• Assist month-end and year-end close through timely processing and issue resolution.
• Respond to internal inquiries about invoices, payments, and account status.
