Job summary

Selig Group, headquartered in Schaumburg, IL, seeks a Hybrid accounts role within its Shared Services team. You will handle AR/AP activities, ensure accurate cash applications, invoice processing, and collections, while supporting month-end closures and internal controls.

Ideal candidates have an Associate’s in Accounting/Finance, 2–4 years in AR/AP, and experience with SAP or similar ERP systems. This role offers on-site to hybrid work arrangements with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
• 2–4 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or General Accounting.
• Experience in a Shared Services environment preferred.
• SAP or other large ERP system experience strongly preferred.

Position Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable (A/R):

• Process and apply customer payments, ensuring accuracy of cash application.
• Prepare and send customer invoices and account statements.
• Monitor customer accounts for past due balances, conduct collections, and elevate as needed.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies and customer inquiries.
• Support month‑end closing activities, including reconciliations and reporting.

Accounts Payable (A/P):

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices in accordance with company policies and controls.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers).
• Resolve discrepancies with purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Support month‑end accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.

Essential Skills and Characteristics

• Strong understanding of accounting principles related to A/R and A/P.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Experience and Education

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
• 2–4 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or General Accounting.
• Experience in a Shared Services environment preferred.
• SAP or other large ERP system experience strongly preferred.

Shared Services & Compliance

• Ensure all activities comply with the Delegation of Authority (DOA), corporate policies, and internal controls.
• Support standardized processes across entities and regions within the Shared Services framework.
• Assist with audits by providing documentation and explanations as required.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Location

• Based in Selig’s Schaumburg office reporting to Manager, Global Accounting with a hybrid on‑site/remote work location (currently on‑site three days per week)
