Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Pullman, WA is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join a fast-paced Finance team. This role focuses on reviewing AP & AR reconciliations, assisting with month-end close, budgets, projections, and internal controls, while collaborating across our global organization.

You will apply strong accounting fundamentals, Excel skills, and clear communication to analyze financial results and support management with data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, MIS, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Excel.
• Knowledge of accounting and finance principles, theories, and concepts.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• The ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• The ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard journal entries, account analyses, workpapers, AP/AR reconciliations, and assist month-end close tasks.
• Prepare analyses of financial data for management review and budgets, projections, product cost analyses, and other analyses, including recommendations to management, and/or assist in documentation of internal controls.

This Accounting Analyst will be responsible for reviewing AP & AR reconciliations while collaborating across our global Finance organization to project and analyze our financial results and instill strong accounting fundamentals. A typical day as an Accounting Analyst might include under direct supervision:

• Performing or auditing standard journal entries, account analyses, workpapers, AP/AR reconciliations, and assist in performing month end close tasks.
• Prepare analysis of financial data for management review.
  Prepare and/or assist with preparation of budgets, projections, product cost analyses, and other analyses, including recommendations to management, and/or assist in documentation of internal controls.
• Assist with research and planning according to generally accepted accounting principles and/or current tax laws.

This job might be for you if have:

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Excel.
• Knowledge of accounting and finance principles, theories, and concepts based on educational experience.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

• The ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

It is a plus if you have:

• Internship experience.
• Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Tax systems.
• Tax, audit, project, and/or cost accounting experience.

Pay Range Data: $92,200 - $136,500 annually

We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the Accounting Analyst level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
