Job summary

Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) in Oklahoma City is seeking an AR Accountant I to support the Finance team on accounts receivable processing. The role offers full-time hours, a comprehensive benefits package, and leave; salary up to $55,000 DOE.

Expect 40-hour weeks and opportunities to participate in audits and special projects. Responsibilities include batch processing, data integrity, and collaboration with colleagues to resolve deposit issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or closely related field.
  • Four years of clerical, bookkeeping, or accounting experience; or
  • Combination of education and experience substituting one year of experience per year of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Batches payments into deposit groups with proper batch codes and entry reasons in the state system.
  • Ensures all accounting data aligns with procedures, regulations, and internal controls; identifies and corrects discrepancies.
  • Collaborates with team to resolve deposit issues, provide backup support, and submit system tickets as needed.
  • Keeps organized electronic records and maintains clearly labeled agency folders.
  • Maintains adherence to internal procedures, deadlines, and audit requirements.
  • Participates in financial meetings to support client agencies and internal teams.
  • Supports special projects and agency requests within timelines.

Job Description

As an AR Accountant I with OMES you will enjoy:

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually mild.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a closely related field; or
  • Four (4) years of clerical, bookkeeping, or accounting experience; or
  • A combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience for each year of the required degree.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or other ERP systems.
