The City of Irving is seeking a Lifeguard Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations, supervise lifeguard staff, assign duties, and prepare reports. The role involves planning weekly in-service training and assisting with staff development and recruitment for the facility.
The position requires certifications and a high school diploma, with duties including lifeguarding, customer service, and facility management across indoor and outdoor pools year-round.
Duties include overseeing day to day operations of assigned facility, including supervising lifeguard staff, assigning duties, and preparing various reports and logs; planning and implementing weekly in-service training as required by state law; assisting with staff training, motivation, communication and discipline; assisting with staff recruiting and marketing of facility and available positions; performing lifeguarding tasks as required by certifying agencies; conducting instructional programs; providing customer service and resolving patron concerns; serving as shift lead as needed; acting as facility manager when Aquatic Coordinator is off-site; and providing assistance with pool chemical monitoring and facility cleaning. Duties typically may require lifting up to 100 pounds. A high school diploma or equivalent, and two years of experience in a supervisory position required. Must be at least 18 to be hired and currently have Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED, Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator and Lifeguard Instructor certifications. This position will work both indoors and outdoors in all seasons; hours may vary and will include some evenings and weekends. PAY GRADE GG16 / FULL PAY RANGE $24.24 - $34.18 PER HOUR
