Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with university campus recreation or related programs; 2 years in recreation preferred.
  • Ability to lead diverse groups, supervise student staff, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of swimming pool programming, PC and Mac operating systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate Student Aquatic Center staff scheduling and supervision.
  • Plan and document lifeguard training and related programs.
  • Develop and oversee Learn-to-Swim, Lifeguarding, CPR, and Water Safety Instructor curricula.
  • Ensure compliance with university, department, and local safety policies.
  • Design, implement and evaluate safety plans and manage events and swim meets.
  • Maintain first-aid supply stock.
