Job summary

The City of O'Fallon is seeking a self-motivated, customer service‑oriented Recreation Specialist to join our Aquatics team. You will oversee staff, facility operations, customer service and admin duties for aquatics programs.

You will hire, train, schedule, evaluate and supervise 100+ Lifeguards and Swim Instructors, while guiding a full‑time Pool Supervisor and serving as Manager on Duty. This role also manages program budgets and reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Missouri driver's license.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays or irregular hours.
• Ability to obtain a first-aid/CPR card.
• Lifeguard Instructor, Certified Pool Operator or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff, facility operations, customer service and admin duties for aquatics.
• Hire, train, schedule, evaluate and supervise 100+ lifeguards and instructors.
• Guide daily operations for a Pool Supervisor and act as Manager on Duty.
• Plan and manage varied recreational and aquatic programs with city partners.
• Manage day-to-day ops at Alligator's Creek Aquatic Center and Renaud Center; assist with maintenance.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and address customer concerns; prepare reports and budgets.
