Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking an Aquatics Manager to oversee daily operations of our aquatic venues, including safety, programming, staffing, and event management. You will lead a team of coordinators, lifeguards, instructors and volunteers, ensuring high service standards and compliant operations.

You’ll work with the Center Director to align programming with facility goals, manage budgets, maintain records, and ensure current certifications across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management or Business Management or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in aquatic programs or facility management.
• American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid/Oxygen certification required.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatics Facilities Operator (APO) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily administrative operations of aquatic venues.
• Develop and monitor programming, safety protocols, and staffing.
• Supervise Aquatic Coordinators, lifeguards, coaches, instructors and volunteers.
• Manage calendars, events, and program budgets.
• Ensure staff certifications and continuing education are up to date.
