Job summary

The Town of Avon, Colorado is accepting applications for an Aquatics Supervisor - Operations. This role oversees Aquatics operations, Lifeguard staff management, aquatics programs, and coordinating group use and pool rentals year-round.

Seasonally this position plans Nottingham Lake Lifeguard operations and supports promotions of aquatic programs. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or related field, two years supervising aquatic facilities, and current certifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation/Physical Education or related field.
• Two years of recreation planning experience including aquatics supervision.
• Current certifications: AFO or CPO, ARC Lifeguarding/CPR/AED, WSI, and LGI.

Responsibilities

• Maintain pool operations, staff training, and safety protocols.
• Recruit and train aquatics staff and schedule coverage.
• Develop monthly staff schedule with in-service trainings.
• Implement new hire training and ongoing in-service trainings.
• Supervise staff performance and provide coaching.
• Inspect aquatics area for ADA compliance and safety checks.
• Develop aquatic activities such as swim lessons, classes, and programs.
• Monitor programs and recommend improvements.
• Assist with promotions and advertising for activities.
• Manage fee structures and funds securely.
• Oversee equipment procurement and maintenance.
• Contribute to budget requests and division management.
• Seek community input for new programs.
• Communicate lap pool schedule to the public.
• Prepare bi-weekly payroll for aquatic staff.
