Job summary

Town of Avon is seeking an Aquatics Supervisor – Operations to lead pool operations, staff scheduling, and program development at the Avon Recreation Center. This role ensures safety, ADA compliance, and effective management of aquatic programs and facilities.

You will recruit and train staff, develop training programs, monitor participation, assist with promotions and budget planning, and coordinate with multiple divisions to deliver high-quality aquatic experiences for the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education or related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least two years of experience in recreation planning, supervising aquatics facilities and programs.
• Current certification in AFO or CPO, ARC Lifeguarding/CPR/AED, WSI and LGI.
• Spanish language proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains pool operations with equipment, chemicals, staff training, SDS, water balance and prep for maintenance.
• Recruits, selects and trains aquatics staff for proper staffing of the aquatics division.
• Creates monthly aquatics staff schedule and manages shifts to keep fully staffed.
• Develops and implements new hire training and monthly in-service trainings.
• Supervises staff performance, coaching and corrective action as needed.
