Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County at Tri County YMCA in Menomonee Falls, WI is seeking an Assistant Aquatics Director. This full-time role focuses on the sound operation of aquatic schedules and safety-based programs under the Aquatics Director.

You will recruit, train, and evaluate aquatic staff, ensure pool safety, and coordinate trainings, events, evenings and weekend shifts. Direct service of 10–20 hours weekly as lifeguard/instructor is expected.

Qualifications

• This position requires ARC Lifeguarding or YMCA Lifeguarding certification, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Standard First Aid.
• Previous supervisory, swim instructor, and lifeguard experience preferred; an Associate's degree or higher is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment and training of aquatic staff.
• Be accountable for coverage of all assigned lifeguard and/or swim instructor shifts.
• Teach and/or guard in the absence of a scheduled lifeguard or swim instructor.
• Coordinate substitute procedures for staff; record changes and maintain staff schedule.
• Assist with leadership at lifeguard in-service trainings and meetings.
• Supervise aquatic staff in the absence of the Aquatic Director.
