Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator to assist the Aquatics Director in delivering safe, high‑quality programs. You will oversee staffing, assist with scheduling and administrative duties, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Lifeguard duties and emergency response are integral to the role. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years lifeguard experience and current certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, BLS for the Professional Rescuer, and Emergency Oxygen

Qualifications

• Current YMCA Lifeguarding certification or equivalent.
• First Aid certification and BLS for the Professional Rescuer.
• Emergency Oxygen Administration certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate aquatic programs and staffing assignments.
• Provide weekly rosters and enrollment verification.
• Assist with scheduling and timesheet monitoring.
• Maintain safety standards and enforce pool rules.
• Perform lifeguard duties with continuous scanning.
• Prepare reports and equipment checks.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
