Job summary

The City and County of Honolulu's Department of Parks and Recreation, Park Maintenance and Recreation Services Division, is hiring one Recreation Director II (Swim) to plan, organize, and direct a comprehensive municipal aquatic program at Waialua Complex.

You will recruit and supervise instructors and lifeguards, develop programs for all ages, manage budgets, ensure safety compliance, and help deliver community events and competitive swim activities.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree; education obtained outside the US must be comparable.
• Four years of general or professional recreation experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, physical education, or education required at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate aquatic programs for all ages and events.
• Assess community needs and plan programs based on interest and feasibility.
• Recruit, train, and supervise staff including instructors and lifeguards.
• Evaluate program performance using feedback and statistics.
• Support facility operations, budget recommendations, and policies.
• Transport supplies or participants using department vehicles.
