Job summary

The City of Tucson is seeking a Pools Supervisor to oversee daily operations of city swimming pools, splash pads, and aquatic facilities. You will supervise staff, ensure safety and water quality, schedule programs, and help manage budgets.

The role reports to the Aquatics Superintendent and involves non-permanent staff supervision. The position requires related experience, safety certifications, and the ability to maintain facility standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of relevant aquatic or supervisory experience.
• Equivalency: any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted year-for-year.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of aquatic facilities and supervises staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
• Ensures compliance with City policies, aquatic safety standards, health and safety requirements, and emergency procedures.
• Conducts facility and safety inspections and documents deficiencies for action.
• Coordinates emergency preparedness, including staff training, action plans, drills, and incident reporting.
• Ensures staff certifications are current and up-to-date.
• Oversees delivery of aquatic programs and services such as swim lessons, events, and rentals.
• Plans and evaluates programs to meet safety, quality, participation, and community needs.
• Maintains water quality and facility operating conditions; reviews water chemistry records and coordinates maintenance.
• Assists with operating budgets, expenditures, inventory, and asset needs.
• Maintains records and prepares reports to support management decisions.
• Responds to questions and concerns from participants and stakeholders; investigates issues and recommends action.
• Maintains Starguard Portal for staff records and uses Digiquatics for scheduling.
• Supports goal setting and assists with pool rentals, payments, and insurance verification.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
