Job summary

The University of California, Berkeley is seeking an Aquatics Chief of Staff to drive the operational and strategic aspects of intercollegiate student-athlete programs. You will plan, schedule, budget, and coordinate travel, while advising the Swimming Head Coach and supporting recruitments.

You will work closely with support units, foster student-athlete well-being, and ensure alignment with conference and NCAA rules. This role emphasizes governance, efficiency, and program success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with Division 1 Aquatics programs.
• Thorough knowledge of and/or ability to learn program activity and best practices.
• Problem-solving skills; multi-task, work with frequent interruptions, and effective listener.
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
• Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications relevant to job duties.
• Solid organizational skills and ability to accomplish multiple tasks within demanding timeframes.
• Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
• Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
• Must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the ACC Conference, NCAA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Practice Scheduling and Performance Analysis - plan, create, and implement practice schedules and calendars for coaches and student athletes.
• Develop performance reports using statistical data from various technologies and tools.
• Coordinate non-conference game scheduling with the Head Coach and department staff.
