Job summary

Westview YMCA in Bennington, NE seeks a part-time Aquatics Manager to oversee pool operations, staff supervision, and program scheduling. The role emphasizes safety, community engagement, and program development within Y policies.

The ideal candidate has supervisory experience in aquatics or similar settings, strong leadership and flexible hours. Training including Lifeguard and CPR may be required within 30 days of hire; Y membership and benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• At least 1 year supervisory experience in customer service or instruction.
• Demonstrated success leading aquatic-focused or equivalent team.
• Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours.
• Complete YMCA cause & culture training and aquatic-specific trainings within 30 days of hire (including Lifeguard certification if needed).
• Ability to relate to diverse groups and clearance of background check.
• Follow youth boundaries policies and abuse risk management training.
• Report suspicious behavior and adhere to mandated abuse reporting policies.
• Complete abuse prevention training prior to first shift.
• Screen, train, and enforce abuse prevention policies for staff.
• Promote a reporting culture and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise program activities to meet community needs and YMCA objectives.
• Support staff and volunteers; assist in direct staff supervision and leadership.
• Maintain staff records.
• Monitor daily pool operations to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Create and schedule classes, practices, and events for the program.
• Assist with program statistics and evaluate participation and effectiveness.
• Assist in marketing and distribution of program information.
• Assist in YMCA fundraising activities and events.
• Compile program statistics and assess effectiveness.
• Participate in branch, department and association meetings and trainings.
