Overview
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions: This list is not exhaustive and may be expanded as necessary by management.

  • Responsible leadership of staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
  • Conduct classes, training, and in-service sessions for Aquatics staff.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor waterpark programming and schedules, anticipating turnover to maintain staffing levels.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources for staffing needs and assist in hiring processes.
  • Encourage career development and advancement for qualified associates.
  • Define responsibilities and authority for department operations.
  • Maintain an efficient, cooperative atmosphere among staff.
  • Ensure all lifeguards hold current certifications.
  • Implement department policies and procedures.
  • Monitor staff hours for payroll accuracy.
  • Analyze operational data for planning and improvement.
  • Participate in the Manager-On-Duty program.
  • Attend staff and other relevant meetings.
  • Develop detailed plans supporting organizational goals.
  • Implement cleaning and maintenance strategies as needed.
  • Ensure procedural compliance through management by walking around.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, resolving conflicts diplomatically.
  • Supervise team tasks, including conflict resolution, coaching, and performance management.
Qualifications and Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ellis & Associates ILTP Instructor certification (must be obtained if hired).
  • At least 2 years of aquatic leadership experience with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent (must be obtained if hired).
  • Full-time availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Positive public relations skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Successful criminal background check.

Physical demands include sitting, standing, reaching, walking, occasional lifting up to 30 pounds, and visual acuity. The environment involves exposure to humidity, outdoor weather, and moderate noise levels.

Compensation

Salary: $60,405.80 annually. This position is not tip-eligible or bonus-eligible.
