  • Willingness to work long hours during the waterpark season (nights, weekends, holidays).

Responsibilities

  • Staff Management: Interview, hire, and train seasonal staff for aquatic operations, including lifeguard staff of 60-80.
  • Operational Oversight: Run day-to-day waterpark aquatic operations with smooth functioning.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to Ellis & Associates Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program and complete trainings and audits.
  • Business Operations: Make informed operational decisions with budget compliance and resource management.
  • Additional Duties: Complete any other assigned tasks with a proactive and positive attitude.

Position Overview

Zion Utah Jellystone Park is seeking an outgoing, organized, positive and experienced professional to serve as the Aquatics Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience managing a diverse team, handling high guest volume, and overseeing aquatics operations in a waterpark environment. This role requires expertise in staff management, training, and handling day-to-day operations with a focus on safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Staff Management:
  • Interview, hire, and train seasonal staff for aquatic operations, including overseeing a lifeguard staff of 60-80.
  • Ensure all staff are prepared and trained according to Ellis & Associates standards.
Operational Oversight:
  • Run day-to-day waterpark aquatic operations, ensuring all aspects function smoothly.
  • Maintain strong communication with guests and staff, providing a positive work environment for employees to grow and deliver exceptional service.
Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure a safe environment for both guests and employees by strictly adhering to the Ellis & Associates Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program.
  • Oversee safety protocols, including training sessions, in-service programs, and regular internal and third-party audits.
Business Operations:
  • Make informed operational decisions while ensuring budget compliance and efficient resource management.
Additional Duties:
  • Complete any other assigned tasks with a proactive and positive attitude.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 18 years old
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (or similar)
  • Ellis & Associates Instructor License (or ability to obtain certification)
  • Positive, self-starter with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check
  • Willingness to work long hours during the waterpark season, including nights, weekends, and holidays (Memorial Day to Labor Day)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of operational management experience in a waterpark or similar environment
  • Experience working with large seasonal teams and high guest volume
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • CPO or AFO Certification
