Position Overview

The Aquatics Manager at British Swim School is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations of the aquatics program and customer service interactions. Priorities include ensuring that the program is delivered according to brand and safety standards, managing the instructor team, providing initial and ongoing training, handling customer conversations, and teaching lessons. The role also involves tracking instructor certifications and supporting employee development.

Typical Responsibilities

• Teach and lead swimming lessons with enthusiasm and fidelity to the British Swim School curriculum.
• Train aquatics instructors and maintain consistent lesson quality across all locations.
• Track and communicate swimmer progress, and develop action plans to address any obstacles.
• Manage pool lesson schedules and swimmer level‑up progress.
• Document employee, customer, and pool incidents.
• Interview, onboard, and manage staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Travel between Cypress and Spring locations; shifts are weekday afternoons/evenings and weekend mornings.

Locations and Shift Schedules

• 17800 FM 529 Houston, TX 77095 – primary location (Tue 3:00 pm–8:00 pm, Thur 3:00 pm–8:00 pm, Sat 10:00 am–3:00 pm, Sun 8:30 am–2:00 pm) – weekends mandatory.
• 12304 Barker Cypress Rd Cypress, TX 77429 – fill in as needed (Mon 3:00 pm–8:00 pm, Wed 3:00 pm–8:00 pm, Sat 8:30 am–2:00 pm).
• 1000 Lake Plaza Dr Spring, TX 77389 – fill in as needed (Mon 3:00 pm–8:00 pm, Wed 3:00 pm–8:00 pm, Thur 3:00 pm–8:00 pm, Sat 8:30 am–2:00 pm).

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service and/or management experience.
• Experience teaching or managing swimming and fitness; a specialist aquatics qualification is desirable.
• Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications (obtainable during training).
