Requirements

As a swim instructor you will teach students of all ages in accordance with the British Swim School aquatics program. Even if you are not an expert swim instructor, that’s ok. We can train anyone on how to teach the way we teach, but we do need the following from you:

• You must be a swimmer with an understanding of all four strokes and an overall appreciation for the water. Prior swim team experience is preferred but not required.
• You love working with children and seeing them progress.
• You are upbeat, enthusiastic, and ready to enjoy having fun at work. Having fun is mandatory.
• You can start weekdays at 3:00 pm.
• You have reliable transportation to our Cypress location.
• You have current lifeguard certification, or you are willing to obtain it within 90 days of employment. Reimbursement is available after 6 months of employment.
• You are willing and able to grow with us beyond the summer months.

  • Hours available – Tue & Thur 3:00 pm–8:00 pm, Sat 10:00 am–3:00 pm, Sun 9:00 am–2:00 pm.
• LA Fitness Cypress – 12304 Barker Cypress, TX 77429
  • Hours available – Mon & Wed 3:00 pm–8:30 pm; additional days/times will become available as we grow.

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary‑aged kids. Instructors should enjoy working with this age group and be comfortable making parents feel at ease. Experience with children or in a child‑focused job is helpful but not required if you bring the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.
