Job summary

The Alvin Community is seeking an Aquatics Manager to coordinate and supervise all aquatic programs, events, and contracts. You will lead staff and volunteers, provide customer service, and ensure safe operations during emergencies under the Recreation Superintendent.

Responsibilities include program development, staff training, contract management, and oversight of seasonal aquatic staff and instructors. Must hold current CPR/First Aid, Lifeguard, WSI, LGI, and CPO/AFO or obtain within required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2 years of recreation/community services experience with supervisory responsibility.
• Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification.
• Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
• Current Red Cross LGI certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• LGIT desirable
• Current Red Cross WSI certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• WSIT or ability to obtain within one year
• Current CPO or AFO or the ability to obtain within 90 days.
• CPRP desirable

Job Announcement

Under general supervision, the purpose of this position is to coordinate, supervise and administer all aquatic programs, activities, and special events for the Alvin Community. Provides customer service, hires, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers in the aquatics division. This position may include service or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of the job during emergency situations for the benefit of the public. The manager is under the direct supervision of the Recreation Superintendent. The Aquatics Manager directly supervises full and part-time staff, volunteers and manages contracts with individuals and organizations. This includes seasonal and part-time aquatic staff and instructors.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED plus 2 years of increasingly responsible recreation and community services experience including 1 year of administrative and supervisory responsibility. Experience in Aquatic facility management, contracts and marketing information is required.
• Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification.
• Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
• Current Rec Cross LGI certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• LGIT desirable
• Current Red Cross WSI certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• WSIT or ability to obtain within one year
• Current CPO or AFO or the ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) desirable.

Salary

Starting Salary is $49,167
